Q: Do you pick up outside of Orange?
A: Pick up from outside Orange can be arranged for group bookings at an additional cost. We can pick up individuals from as far away as Milthorpe for an additional $40.
Q: What time do the tours start?
A: Most tours start at 10:00 with a pick up time around 9:45 to 10.20am . We do offer a Half Day Tour in the afternoon that starts at 1:00pm, with the pick up time being around 1:10pm. If you would like to choose the start time, a Custom Tour is probably your best option, The easiest way to view our times is by checking availability via the bookings page.
Q: How many passengers can you accommodate?
A: Orange Wine Tours specialises in smaller tours, but can orgnise tours for 1-43 people. We like to plan our tours with a, "anything is possible"approach.
Q: What wineries do you visit?
A: We have a working relationship with all wineries in the Orange region and the wineries we visit change on a daily basis. We strive to make every tour special and tailor each day's visit as best we can to our customers' tastes. Let us know what wines you would like to taste. We are happy to accommodate winery requests if possible, however you might be surprised by some fabulous wineries and cellar doors you didn't know existed!
Q: Is pick up and drop off included?
A: Pick up and drop off in the Orange area is included in the tour price, but arrangements can me made to pick up from one of the surrounding areas i.e. Milthorpe, Clifton Grove, and Blayney (charges may apply).
Q: What is the minimum number of people for a tour?
A: Orange Wine Tours will never cancel a tour for lack of numbers. Our Lunch Tours and Half Day Tours do have a minimum number of 2 on booking, but once the booking is made it is confirmed regardless of any other cancellations.
Q: Can I request particular cellar doors?
A: Requests are encouraged so that we can try to create the best experience possible for our guests, however the only way to guarantee you go to the stops of your choice is to book a Custom/Private Tour.
Q: Do tasting fees apply for large tour groups ( 6 or more) ?
A: Tasting fees apply for large groups and the tour organiser will be requested to pay the fee at least 48 hrs prior to tour either to Orange Wine Tours or direct to the cellar door. The usual fee is $10 which is redeemable if each person on tour purchases a bottle of wine. Tasting fees are not included in our prices unless specified.
Q: Do you do 'hens or bucks parties'?
A: As our name implies we are a wine tour operator. We do not do these types of tour groups. Most cellar doors do not do take tour groups of this type.
Q: Do tasting fees apply for mixed tour groups
A; Some cellar doors do apply a tasting fee usually $10 which is redeemable if each person on tour purchases a bottle of wine. We inform passengers prior to visiting the cellar door. Tasting fees are not included in our prices. unless specified
Q: Do you do tours other than wine tours?
A: As our name implies our specialty is wine tours. Our philosophy is simple: do what we are passionate about and try to be the best at it. Our tour packages are great for most people, but if you are interested in a broader tour consider a custom tour where we will be happy to put together a brewery, farm and wine combination tour.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We understand things change and try to be as flexible as we can be. However, our policy is as follows; All cancellations are subject to a $5 admin fee and 48hrs notice is required otherwise the cancellation will incur a $50 0r 10% of booking total cancellation fee.
Q: Can we eat on the bus?
A: We ask that you don't bring your lobster mornay on board, but if you would like to bring some simple snacks on board that's not a problem. We do provide nibbles and water on all of our tours
Q: Can I bring an eski/cooler/chillybin with beers on board?
A: We have to be a little bit strict on this one unfortunately and say no. Apart from it being legally hazy in NSW, that isn't the type of tours we do.
Q: Do I have to buy wine?
A: Although it isn't an absolute must, it is customary to make some sort of purchase from the wineries, as a show of gratitude for their time. We are spoiled for choice in the Orange region, there are over 20 grape varieties grown, hopefully you will be able to find something that pleases you.
Q: I'd like to buy a lot of wine but I can't carry it home with me?
A: Orange Wine Tours in association with many of the wineries in the region are happy to assist you with shipping your purchases across Australia. (Rates vary)
Q: Do you cater for people with food allergies?
A: We are happy to make arrangements so that you enjoy the tastes of Orange while making concessions for those with food restrictions.
